  • Visiting Poet

    Poet, editor, and book-arts curator David Abel will be in Salt Lake to present and discuss three new publications all appearing in the latter half of 2017: Selected Durations, an artist's book Black Rock Press at the University of Nevada, Reno XIV Eclipses Couch Press sequitur her press-press-pull (Portland, Oregon) Abel is a founding member of the Spare Room reading series, now in its sixteenth year, and was an inaugural Research Fellow of the Center for Art + Environment of the Nevada Museum of Art. With Sam Lohmann, he publishes the Airfoil chapbook series, and since moving to Portland to establish Passages Bookshop and Gallery he has published twenty-five issues of the free poetry & art broadside series Envelope.

  • Guest Writer's Series

    The Salt Lake City Arts Council continues a partnership with the University of Utah Department of English and Creative Writing Program to present the Guest Writers Series. A monthly series, scheduled on Thursday evening, brings in contemporary writers from across the county. The public readings are held at the Finch Lane Gallery and are free.
